  • Nassau County Establishes the Small Business Assistance Grant Program

    Nassau County has established the Small Business Assistance Grant Program using funding received through the federal CARES Act. Effective August 1, 2020, eligible small businesses can access up to $5,000 to cover “normal business expenses, including employee wages, vendor bills, rent, utilities and employee/customer safety costs to help offset the temporary loss of revenue due to COVID-19.” 

    There are 18 criteria in total, including the following:

    • Must not have received a PPP loan or other government assistance in excess of $50,000
    • Must have earned less than $1,000,000 of revenue during 2019
    • Must have been in existence since before August 1, 2017
    • Must have no more than 9 employees
